Server data via doomlist.net, which reads the Zandronum master server. Fetched at most once a minute; player names are shown live and never stored. No ping: a web page cannot measure yours. How to join.

What this list is

Every server on the Zandronum master list, as reported by doomlist.net, refreshed once a minute while this page is open. The default view shows servers with people on them; empty servers and bot-only servers sit behind the toggles. Nothing here is stored by us: the list passes straight through, and player names are shown live and never kept.

How to join a server

First, your Zandronum version. A server only takes clients running the same version, and the list is split almost down the middle: of the 706 servers that answered on 18 September 2026 at 09:01 UTC, 352 ran the 3.2 line and 333 ran 3.3-alpha. Point a 3.2 client at a 3.3-alpha server and you never get in — the console answers “Failed connect. Your version is different. This server is using version: 3.3-alpha”. Your own version sits in the bottom-right corner of Zandronum’s console, and each row’s details here show the server’s, so compare the two before you pick one.

Then the files. Three servers in four run doom2.wad, the commercial Doom II file (528 of those 706; MM8BDM’s megagame.wad is next at 91, and only 12 run Freedoom). Zandronum compares the MD5 hash of every file, so freedoom2.wad cannot stand in for doom2.wad and renaming it changes nothing — the hash is what is checked. What you get instead is a connection that dies one step later: “The server reports 8 file(s), and you have 2 · Missing file(s): doom2.wad · Extra file(s) not loaded by the server: freedoom2.wad · Level authentication failed.” You also need every PWAD the server loads, and that is usually the bigger hurdle: the median server here loads 3 extra files, the average 7, the heaviest 58, and only 47 of the 706 need nothing but the IWAD.

Then pick a route. If the server loads files you do not have, only the first one can fetch them for you.

  1. In Doomseeker, from its own list. Refresh, find the server by name or address, then right-click it and choose Join. Doomseeker downloads the WADs and builds the command line; Show join command line shows you exactly what it will run. There is no File → Connect in Doomseeker — that is not where joining lives.
  2. In Doomseeker, by address. If a server is missing from its list, add it: Options → Configuration (F5) → Pinned servers → pick Zandronum → Add. Put only the IP in the Host field and the port in the Port field next to it. Pasting the whole 203.0.113.10:10670 into Host makes Doomseeker hunt for a machine by that name, and it answers “Failed to resolve address for custom server”. Then OK, refresh, and join it from the list.
  3. In Zandronum, by address. No launcher, and identical on Windows, macOS and Linux — but only when you already have every file the server loads. Press Copy address on the row you want, open the console with the ` key (left of the 1, and rebindable under Options → Customize controls), then type connect, a space, and what you copied, so the line reads connect 203.0.113.10:10670. Without the space the console answers “Unknown command”. Leave the port off and it uses 10666. The same address works from a shortcut or a terminal as -connect 203.0.113.10:10670.

The Join button on this page opens a zan:// link. On Windows that works when you keep the “associate zan:// links with Doomseeker” box ticked while installing Zandronum. On macOS and Linux nothing claims that link type by default, so use Doomseeker there.

What you will not find here

Your ping. A web page cannot measure your connection to a game server, so we show the server’s country instead of a number that would be doomlist’s ping, not yours. Doomseeker measures real ping. Servers for other ports (Odamex, ZDaemon) are not on the Zandronum master list; the Odamex review explains where those live.

Trends over time, busiest hours and the most-played files are on the Multiplayer Pulse page.
